The Marshdragons are full of mischief and end up in the strangest places. Today they have gone to the seaside and have a wonderful story to tell..........

The trip to the seaside had been planned a couple of weeks before and today is the day that they actually go. None of them slept that night, they were all too excited. They are only young and had never been to the seaside before.
Dravina (their human friend) had made all the arrangements and was getting a picnic together when they all chased down the stairs.
'Morning everyone' she said looking up from the eggy sandwiches, 'I need each of you to brush your teeth and get your buckets, spades and swimming things together for me, I've still got a lot to do here'
They all ran back upstairs and she heard them giggling and chattering as they clattered around the bathroom. Then she heard the banging and crashing as they each went to their rooms and hunted out their buckets and spades from their cupboards. Then came the biggest thump thump thump thump thump as they ran back down the stairs again.
By this time the picnic was ready and she was putting it in the car along with the towels and a huge pile of other things that she had got ready the night before. There were rubber rings and things that the Marshdragons had never seen before, they threw their buckets and spades in and were all chattering excitedly.
'Ok I think that's everything, has everyone got everything they need?'
The Marshdragons all looked at each other, some were looking at the sky trying to think of anything else they could take with them.
'Ok then, climb in and lets get on our way' she said.' She had only got half way through the sentence and the car was full of excited dragons. She laughed to herself as she went and locked the front door, when she got back to the car the dragons were all singing

Were all going on a summer holiday
no more worries for a week or two
fun and laughter on a summer holiday
to make our dreams come truuuue
for me and you.

It took quite a while to get to the seaside but they didnt mind as they sung all the way and really enjoyed themselves.
'I CAN SEE THE SEA' shouted Sandy, the singing stopped and they all sat with their mouths open.
'It's huuuuuge' said Buck.

Dravina had told them stories of the seaside and how big the sea was but it looked like it went on forever and fell over the edge of the world.
Dravina parked the car and they all got their things from the boot.
'Stay where I can see you' She called after them as they all ran excitedly over the sand.

Buck was the first to build a sandcastle and Sandy was the first to go through it



He came out the other side shaking the sand out of his ears. Dravina couldnt stop laughing! Then buck tripped over with his bucket full of sand and it landed on his head



Dravina was holding her sides, she was laughing so hard she didnt think she could laugh anymore, then she heard a muffled voice 'um help please' it said. As she turned round she could see Jack, well part of him anyway, the rest of him was stuck underneath the remains of a boat that had been damaged in the sea.



Dravina lifted the boat gently and jack crawled out from under it.
'I think we will have to call you Captain Jack from now on' said Dravina laughing so hard the tears were streaming down her face.
'I think it's time we had something to eat' she said, and all the Marshdragons came running. They finished off the sandwiches and crisps really quickly.
'Who would like an icecream' she said
'yeeeeeeaahhhhhhh' all the dragons screamed.
They sat together to eat their icecreams chatting excitedly about the things they had seen.
'DRAVINA' shouted Netty 'Vanilla's got stuck in her cone' she said



'Immmmm not stuck' said Vanilla licking her lips 'Its the best way to eat them' she said
The Marshdragons all laughed loudly together and Vanilla really did enjoy her icecream.
When they had finished eating they all went off to play. Netty went for a swim in the sea with Vanilla to wash off the icecream.
'DRAVINA DRAVINA look at me' shouted Netty, she was covered in seaweed and the remains of an old fishing net.


'It looks like you've made a new friend' said Dravina laughing, and pointed to the starfish on Netty's back.
Dravina stopped laughing and looked around 'Has anyone seen Gemma?' she said. 'Not since we had icecream' said the others. They all walked along the beach together calling Gemma's name. Dravina was getting quite worried until suddenly she spotted an old wooden chest, she could hear giggling coming from it. When she lifted the lid there was Gemma covered in the most beautiful Jewels Dravina had ever seen.



'Can I keep them' Said Gemma looking up at Dravina, her eyelids fluttering. Dravina couldnt be cross with her, she looked so sweet.
'Sorry but I dont think so' said Dravina 'they must belong to somebody'.
Dravina called the police and showed them the beautiful treasure chest.
'If nobody claims them within 30 days then the treasure is yours' explained the policeman.

'I'ts getting late' said Dravina 'I think we had better get you lot home to bed!'
The Marshdragons slept all the way home, it had been a busy and exciting day for them. When they got in they all went straight to bed and dreamt of all the wonderful things they had done and seen.

The next day they were all having breakfast together, chatting about their day at the seaside when there was a knock at the door. Dravina went to open it while they carried on eating and talking.
'Gemma theres someone here to see you' called Dravina.
The chatting stopped and they all looked at each other, Gemma never has visitors.
'Come on Gemma don't keep them waiting' called Dravina
All the Marshdragons ran to the door to see what was happening. The first thing they noticed was the great big black car parked outside the house, it was at least 3 cars long and really shiny. Then they saw a man dressed in a really nice suit standing in the garden.
'Which one of you is Gemma' said the man.
Gemma stepped forward shyly looking at the man and then at Dravina
'It's alright' whispered Dravina 'he's the man who the treasure belongs to.'
The man was smiling at Gemma 'I owe you a really big thank you' he said 'I can't let you keep the treasure, but I would like to give you this as a thank you for finding it'
He stepped to the side and behind him was a treasure chest just like the one she had found.
Gemma was a little dissapointed and it must have shown
'Open it' said the man
Gemma opened it slowly, her face was a picture, her mouth opened widely as did her eyes. She looked at the man and then back into the chest, then back at the man. The others came running over 'LET'S SEE LET'S SEE' they shouted.
As they all looked into the chest they all gasped together and looked at the man and then back at the chest.
'Help yourselves' the man said laughing
The chest was full of dressing up clothes of every description
'Something to fit everyone I think' the man said.
The Marshdragons were too busy to hear, they each had an outfit and was trying it on.
But then that's another story on its own.
