How to make a dolls house bed and chair
Making your own dolls house furniture couldn't be easier than this.
stirring sticks (the sort you see at most fast food outlets)
Toothpicks/Cocktail sticks
Scissors
Ruler
Pencil
Glue

Lay some stirring sticks on a sheet of graph paper or cutting board with squares so that you can get them nice and square.
They need to measure 3" wide.
Shape the top of the headboard to your design
Cut a strip to go across the width and glue to hold into place

Glue 2 strips on both the headboard and the footboard one at 1/4" from the bottom and the other 1 1/2" to the top of the the strip.

Cut 3 lengths to 6 1/2" long and 17 to 3"
lay the short lengths on 2 of the long lengths and space as evenly as you can
glue the 2 end lengths in place first as this will hold it together while you work.
Now glue each of the other slats in place.

Finished bed base

Glue both ends of the bed base and a small amount under the 2 long legths where it will sit.
Lay the headboard on its side and stick the base to the highest strip,
do the same with the footboard.
glue both ends of the other 6 1/2" length and fix to the lowest strip in the centre of the head and foot boards (use a support if necessary)
Ensure that it is square using your graph paper or cutting board

Leave until the glue has fully set before standing it up
Easy to make chair
Cut 2 sticks to 2 1/2" long and 3 + a toothpick to 1 1/4"
Lay the long lengths on their sides and glue 2 short lengths near one end as shown using a prop to raise them (these will form the back rest)
turn one short length on its side and glue 1 1/2" from the bottom (this will be used as a seat support)
Now glue the toothpick section approx 3/4" from the bottom

Cut 2 lengths 1 1/2" long, 1 length + 1 toothpick to 1 1/4"
Lay the 2 longest lengths on their sides
glue the 1 1/14" strip on the top
glue the toothpick 3/4" from the bottom
use a prop to raise it if necessary

Once the glue on the back and front leg sections is dry
cut 5 lengths 1 1/2" long
Glue these to the middle strip on the chair back (see picture)

Glue the front of the slats to the top of the front legs
cut 2 toothpicks 1 1/4" long and attach to the sides level with the ones on the back and front

and now we have 2 wonderful pieces of furniture for your dolls house
These can be left plain wood or painted to match your decor
why not make a cushion for the chair and some bedding to finish them off nicely.
