Pop-up Cards
Bird
You will need:
Coloured paper or card
Pencil
Ruler
1. Fold your paper or card in half and then half again and put to one side.
2. Cut out a cirle for the body of the bird
3. fold circle in half and cut out a V for the beak
4. Stick some yellow paper behind the hole for the beak
5. cut a slit through the middle of the yellow paper and fold the 2 triangles back
6. open the body and pull out the yellow beak sections so they fold out instead of in. Open and close the body a few times and the beak should open and close.
7. stick the bird to the inside of the card making sure to get no glue on the beak.
8. Now add your eyes, feet and wings. I have drawn my wings on but you could use feathers or stick paper wings.
Fish

The fish is very similar to make to the bird.
Miss out numbers 3 & 4 in the bird instructions as you are using the same paper for the mouth. Instead once the mouth is cut stick a piece of white paper behind the body and cut and stick a small fish to this. The cut out some fins and eyes and hey presto your finished!
You may like to experiment with different variations on this theme or come up with your own designs and ideas. Dont forget the marshfairies would love to see pictures of the ones you have made.
You never know with a bit of practice you could soon make this
